Day 11: Paihia 0 Day
Today I took a zero day to play tourist. In the morning I went to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds where some Maori chiefs and the British signed the controversial Waitangi Treaty. They had a great museum, an hour tour and then a half hour cultural presentation. It was all wonderful and I even got a little discount with my international youth travel card. Yay!
After that it started to rain and I went to the supermarket to stock up on food for the next 3 to 4 days and did my laundry.
Then I went around town with Curly and the Belgian TA tramper. We're all going to take a water taxi tomorrow evening to continue the trail. I was planning on taking the $1 Opua ferry, but it would've added about 20 walking kilometers to my day tomorrow and with three people on the water taxi it'll cut down the cost.
Hopefully the weather tomorrow is a litttle better than it was today.
